"Working together to help neighbors recover"
The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has provided a Foreclosure Prevention and Response (FPR) Grant Program to aid REALTORS®, their clients, and the nation’s communities in facing the challenges of the current market. Through this program the Nevada Association of REALTORS® (NVAR) was awarded a $48,579 grant to help the state REALTOR® association and local REALTOR® associations develop coordinated plans of action to prevent foreclosures and respond to their adverse affects.
The Reno Sparks and Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS® are working to utilize this grant money for the benefit of their communities and REALTOR® members, as well as the entire state, to provide education and counseling services to anyone who may be in foreclosure or close to foreclosure.
This website will provide you foreclosure information on what the REALTOR® associations are doing for you, links to websites about foreclosures, and what you need to know to avoid foreclosure and if you are in foreclosure how to work your way through it
Foreclosure Mediation Program
The 2009 Legislative Session established the Foreclosure Mediation Program to help keep Nevada families in their homes. The law provides for mediation as an alternative method to help parties resolve disputes by agreement with the help of trained mediators. The program is for owner-occupied residential properties that are subject to foreclosure notices filed on or after July 1, 2009. For more information, go to the Nevada Judiciary website at http://www.nevadajudiciary.us/. and click on the “Foreclosure Mediation” button.
